We all think better with a full tummy and without artificial refined ingredients. So many kids “problem” classroom behaviors iron out when they start eating a clean diet.

Soup Pack

 

We love soup regardless of the weather! You can even use this as the basis for stew. The possibilities are endless.  

These ingredients make for a great base for split pea soup, zuppa toscana, beef stew, and hearty chicken stew.

Kale

Make kale chips (a family favorite!); braised kale; kalesalad; juice it or put it in smoothies, egg scrambles, pasta, and soups and stews; and on pizza! This superfood veggie is so versatile and so good for you. My current daily breakfast: fresh kale, sweet potato (cubed, roasted, and frozen), chopped garlic, olive oil in a pan; top with a fried egg, homemade sriracha, and crumbled bacon or sausage if there’s any languishing in the fridge! It is an amazing start to my day!

Yellow Peaches

Summer means stone fruit! Peaches freeze and bottle beautifully. We love them just fresh or alongside a fun snack platter: sheep’s cheese, figs, almonds, cherries, apricots, berries, and sweet citrus (with the first three is my absolute favorite!). You can grill or poach them, too – and, of course, make jam or jelly, syrup, compote. Infuse summertime drinks, add to smoothies, popsicles, sorbets, cobblers, top desserts, ice cream, yogurt, and granola. Wonderful!

Please bring a complete paper or digital copy (e.g., via smart phone, tablet, camera) of your Contribution Confirmation to your site each time you participate.
